Resinlab Company History

Resinlab was originally founded in Germantown, Wisconsin in 1988 as Advanced Polymer Concepts also known as APC. The brand name was officially changed to Resinlab in 2000 and the Resinlab trade name is now officially registered and owned by Resinlab, LLC. The original company, APC, was founded in 1988 as a joint venture by Paul Ellsworth, co-owner of Ellsworth Adhesives, and Paul Tehan, who was then a talented young chemist and is now Technical Director at Resinlab. Paul Tehan was later bought out, and Resinlab, LLC is now a wholly owned unit of Ellsworth Adhesives.

In 1994, APC combined operations with Kitpackers, another unit of Ellsworth Adhesives and moved into a new facility on Morse Drive in the Germantown, Wisconsin industrial park. This new Morse Drive facility was built adjacent to Ellsworth Adhesives facility on Fulton Drive. These three companies complimented each other tremendously, as APC formulated and blended resins, Kitpackers provided custom resin packaging, and Ellsworth Adhesives distributed these products together with a complete line of specialty chemicals from other major manufacturers.

The result of this synergy was rapid growth that necessitated the need for more space for all three companies. In 2003, Ellsworth Adhesives moved to a new 85,000 sq. ft. World Headquarters and Distribution Center in a new Germantown, Wisconsin industrial park a few miles east. This made the Fulton Drive facility available for Kitpackers to renovate, and move its packaging operation from the facility shared with Resinlab on Morse Drive. This allowed Resinlab to double its manufacturing space, setup cellular manufacturing, and enhance its lab capabilities.

Resinlab is now a leading resin manufacturer with state of the art production equipment, lab capabilities, and technical expertise. The majority of Resinlab products are sold through Ellsworth Adhesives worldwide network of Engineered Sales Representatives throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. Through it’s neighbor and sister company, Kitpackers, Resinlab offers the widest array in the industry of standard and custom packages of adhesives, sealants, coatings, and encapsulants.

Resinlab offers a standard line of products outlined on this website, but our specialty is custom resin formulating and toll blending to meet our customer’s exact requirements. Resinlab provides standard and custom products to almost every industry for electronic packaging market, as well as general industrial, OEM, product assembly market. Our polymer chemists together with their extensive lab capabilities provide outstanding technical support to our customers both small and large.
